University of Virginia: Charlottesville is most famous for being the home of the University of Virginia. The University Rotunda and the Lawn area (called the Academical Village) is a beautiful place to visit, especially in the spring. Some of our engagement photos were taken on the Lawn and the Rotunda.
Downtown Mall The Downtown Mall is a walking mall with a lot of nice restaurants, shops and bars. To get there from the Hampton Inn, head south on US 29, turn left onto Hydraulic Rd, left onto US-250, then exit onto Park St, making a right turn. Then right onto High St and then any of the next 3 left turns. There is limited street parking around the area, and several parking garages, the largest of which is on Water St.
